I believe that capability of managing freedom is a big step for anyone, as Kant says, "[f]or any single individual to work himself out of the life under tutelage which has become almost his nature is very difficult." Being confined under the knowledge of another is first nature to mankind. It makes me wonder whether there is always an obstacle in the way for freedom to reach enlightenment. Where does that first step begin? I guess it begins with making one's life a little more fruitful through whatever obstacle is in the way at this very moment. As Kant finishes up his essay on enlightenment, he says there is no danger in public use of freedom and published thoughts. Bearing this fruit might begin with becoming aware of what you are doing, what is around you, what is causing hesitation, and publishing those thoughts for growth.
