Plato's Cave 2: Electric Boogaloo

I got major cave analogy vibes from the Kant reading. And for those who were in the Ben May lobby while I ranted on Plato's cave, you'll understand why this quote made me chuckle. "For this enlightenment, however, nothing is required but freedom...The public use of one’s reason must always be free, and it alone can bring about enlightenment among men."  The way to exit the cave and achieve enlightenment [philosofical truth] is to do it your dang self. There is no requirement, no obligation for others to help or for us to help others, no excuse for every man, free of mind, to not achieve enlightenment.

If you exist, which you do, and are not mentally imprisoned by an opposing force, which according to Gandhi, can be prevented, then you have zero excuses to not actively strive for philosophical enlightenment.

Cade: that's an interesting viewpoint cade. And to be super honest I did not get anything near that. But I agree it is super important to trust your pastor. I have found that the spirit of discernment helps a lot with that.

Spencer: I think there is a difference between dependence and reliance. To be dependant on someone or something isn't great, however, self-reliance is healthy and crucial for many people who don't have a stable social network or are unable to. All in all, a good first blog post.
