Can you avoid the fate that is laid out for you? In the book, Adam is told the future. He is told a lot of horrible things, for example, Cain killing Abel. Knowing this was going to happen ahead of time could he had of prevented it? Could he have of tried harder to in the book`s world to prevent Cain from killing Abel or the fact of trying too hard to prevent Cain from doing it drove Cain right back to kill Abel? Are certain events always destined to happen? Yes, until a time machine is invented and then we can figure out who finds out who answers that question and kills us all. These questions are always fun to explore and many science fiction shows, books, and movies have explored this idea ton. As Christians, the question are certain events predestined by God a highly debated topic, and while I do not have enough knowledge to make a strong enough argument or want to start a fight it is a hard thing to pin down when what is the right answer when our knowledge on time is based only on our perception on it and God has intimate knowledge of it because he is outside of it and because he made it.
