The most interesting thing to me this week took place near the beginning of book eleven. The beginning of the book talks about how Jesus intercedes for Adam and Eve. When I read this I wondered if that was actually biblical. Again, I understand that Milton's book is not the bible, and could barely even be considered 'loosely based' around the bible. Now, when I say "Did Jesus intercede for Adam and Eve," I mean in the very moment of their sin. I am not talking about when Jesus died for the sins of all humanity past, present, and future on the cross. I personally can't remember reading anything about Jesus interceding for their sin in the bible; however, I am coming off of a weekend retreat with middle schoolers and am exhausted. But it still made me curious, did Milton just pull this out of thin air, or did he actually think something like this happened? Was it just a story he made or a truth he believed? If he did believe it, then where did he get this idea from? I know this is somewhat short, but it was really what stuck out most to me. What do you guys think?
