This week I want to focus my blog on sin. I attend Redemption Church on Sunday mornings, and yesterday our pastor explained how sin is first an internal thought. We do not have to act in order to sin, and since we are human we haveful many sinful thoughts everyday.
I then thought about how in book X Milton explains how God already knew that Satan had been deceiving Eve and allowed for it to happen. God does nothing about it because He has provided them with the freewill to not fall into the pits of sin. This happens to us each day. We have people and situations that follow us and attempt to catch us at times when we are most vulnerable. During highschool and college years are times when Satan is going to keep pounding us with his hatred and deceit. Just as God does to Eve, God gives us the power and strength to say no to Satan and turn to Him.
Also, in book X God commands snakes to slither on their bellies, and women to have painful childbirth. I thought about my family from Northern parts of the United States who do not understand that if God loves us so much, then why does He punish us, as he does to snakes and women. My only reasoning and understanding of this is that because He is such a loving father, He has to punish us. Just as parents do from the time we are small. There must be consequences for our actions.
James 2:10 ~ For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in one point has become accountable for all of it.
I commented on Jamie Peters and Rachel Gregson’s post.
Mine would not allow me to comment on Rachel’s, but what I wrote is copied and pasted below.
I agree with you completely and believe you could not have written your post more truthfully. We do not deserve anything our God provides us with, but He does it anyways. The 'punishments' that we think we get, are far too small compared to the ultimate sacrifice Jesus paid for us.
