Root of all evil - Anna Grace Gay

To begin, I lost this book and had to reorder it and it came in today so my reading and understanding of this play is very small, just know that going into this blog. I enjoy plays because for me it is easier to follow so I was excited when I learned we would be reading a play.

Originally, Orgon is not concerned about money. As things progress and things are revealed to him, suddenly he is very concerned about money and worldly things. Money is the root of all evil and this is a perfect example of how quickly it can grab you. 1 Timothy 6:10 says, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs." Money can easily and quickly entangle people. Even when they don't think it will be something that tempts them or brings them away from God, it can. We always need to be alert and ready for whatever way the devil is trying to attack us. Orgon originally wasn't concerned about worldly things but that changed and it can change for us as well. Don't fall into that trap. Stand firm in the faith.
