Was it supposed to work out like this? -Clabo

Honestly, I feel as if the fall gave Adam, and even human kind a better purpose. Before the fall, Adam and Eve had some reasons to praise God, but, although they were definitely sufficient reasons, it seems as if they had more purpose and fulfillment through worshiping, praising, and following God after the Fall. Yes, He created them from nothing, sustained them, and held them in such high regard, but after they gave passage to Sin and Death into the world and doomed humanity, He still found a way to save them. It also wasn't just a "patch-up job" either. God and the Son beautifully worked out how to save humanity and give humanity the choice to follow him and live a godly lifestyle so well that it almost seems as if it wouldn't have been right any other way. It feels as if this was the way it was supposed to go, because it gives people so much more purpose. Human kind didn't deserve redemption, but the love and glory of God and the Son is so amazing that they saved us anyway.

I also like how Adam and Eve receive some reconciliation before they leave the Garden. They leave on almost happy terms, because, instead of just being kicked out and believing that they doomed humanity to the point of no return and that they will be forever disconnected to God, Michael tells Adam of the future and what wonder and fulfillment is to come. He also tells him that he can pray to God whenever and wherever he is. Instead of God just kicking them out and making them feel like they are failures forever, He still loves them enough to make sure that they know they are cared for and that it will all work out.

Did anyone else see the same stuff I did? Also, did anyone else feel that A-team, "I love it when a plan comes together" moment?

P.S. I commented on Jamie Peters' and Moriah Nelson's post.

I definitely agree that the Fall gave humanity renewed purpose and I wonder how we would define humanity’s purpose before the Fall. Was their purpose changed after the Fall or just fulfilled in a different way? If their purpose was to bring glory to God, Adam and Eve seem to have simply needed to obey God’s commands. After the Fall, humanity's purpose is still to worship God. So I think while our purpose is possibly still the same, we have been given a new reason to fulfill our purpose: the grace God has shown us by redeeming us from death! This is a great post and really thought-provoking!
I agree with you on all fronts, Clabo! The Bible tells us that God's strength is perfected in our weakness, and I can't help but feel like this road that we walk is the one that was always intended. I can't say that I understand why this would be God's perfect design, but thankfully I'm not God so I don't have to. All I know is that God is fully wise and fully kind, and He can be trusted. How much easier, then, is it to fulfill our purpose of praising Him!

I completely agree, Clabo! I always think of it like this. You always like your favorite food. It's your favorite, after all. But would you like it more if you had just eaten an entire chocolate cake, or after you been eating only broccoli for two weeks? If your hunger is constantly satiated, it is difficult to find the need for food.
