Hume and the Vixen - Caroline Tucker

While reading Hume, I read the line
“ In order to cure most of the ills of human life, I require not that man should have the wings of           the eagle, the swiftness of the stag, the force of the ox, the arms of the lion,  the scales of the  crocodile or rhinoceros; much less do I demand the sagacity of an angel or cherubim.” (Hume)
I immediately thought of the superhero, Vixen. She can use the strengths of animals to defeat her opponent, but she can only use one strength at a time. Hume was difficult for me to understand, and I do not know why he said this, but maybe he was saying that to defeat human affliction we do not need to have that power. He says later that we need to be content with the power of the soul.

P.s. I commented on Mary Emma’s and MacKenzie’s posts
