Dream Weaver ft. Gary Wright

I love the idea that the world of dreams is only invalidated by its lack of consistency. Consistency is so important in our world. Consistency is why we can learn. The lack of is why we have conflict, why we have elections, etc. The concept of dreaming for 12 hours the same general dream world, is such a fascinating and somewhat exciting idea. What if we could experience the inhuman? What if we could test the intangible or impractical. So much work would be done in dreams, so that at the point of waking the research optioned could be applied.

But at the same time, would one truly be able to keep track of which life is the true one? The one that would end in death. Or what if a person preferred the dream world, and so they neglected themselves in the “real”. This idea just has so many interesting trains of thought, as well as many cultural and social implications.

This also brings me to discuss something likely not on the minds of people at this time.
VR. Virtual Reality.

Virtual reality can produce this curated dream like experience. And through innovation, sensors, etc; one can almost complete submerge themselves into this new world.
Studies are already being done to adventure into what this means for humanity, and what effect this will have on people socially and culturally.
Will many begin to neglect their reality in order to improve their “second chance” in the virtual world. This likely could become like a drug, as one pursues the experiences they desire and run from their “real”.

In such a small passage Pascal generates so much food for thought. I very much enjoyed reading this article.
