What I found the most interesting about pascals methodical approach as he explained almost in a dreamlike quality, if that makes any sense, the very nature of man and everything he is and will ever be . I believe that it is this innate ability of his that makes reading his workings truly "Dynamite" as Dr. Mashburn claimed as this is an ability that I have seen very few authors able to accomplish with Karl Marx's and Friedrich Engels The Communist Manifesto the only book that seems similar to me at the moment. This ability of his has led me to believe that not only is Pascals work one of my personal favorites but that it is also likely the greatest work that we read this semester. Moving on from the mystical ability of Pascals writings, He also lays out the limit of our understanding while believing that unlike God, our understanding exists within a very limited range. This portion of his work is undoubtedly the most intriguing to me because although the limits of human understanding is a popular topic for philosophers during this era, Pascal was able to present it in such a way that it was not only unique but also easy to understand an area where many seemingly struggle. Overall, I view this work as a great read that we ought to have done sooner.
