Hello friends. Tonight's blog will be much shorter and much more simple:
I am very glad that this work is satirical, and here's why: This quote really got me going:
"On her white breast a sparkling Cross she wore;
which Jews might kiss, and Infidels adore."
Literally just these few words right here got me all angry and judge-y about this guy- like how can you NOT write a huge poem and be all famous but be saying some total "B. S."??? So it took a gracious friend named Gary with a helpful reminder that everything Pope is saying is basically a big joke. On the real, if this wasn't satire I think this dude was either a little clueless or actually believed that Jews would kiss a Cross.
Satire is a beautiful thing, folks, and for me specifically tonight- I constantly need to be reminding myself that compared to Pope, and most especially the guy who created.. like... the entire universe..... I am an idiot. And folks, a little bit of humility goes a looooong way.
please pray for your ASOTA friends this week (specifically tech majors). We will all be working day in and out on a huge setup for Christmas Spec. sooo yeah.
Until next time, friends. Be sure to enjoy a favorable beverage of your choice- (non-alcoholic, of course).
I commented on Anna Kate and Stephen's posts.
