Howdy, fellas!
Let's discuss The Rape of the Lock, shall we?
I really liked the whole idea of the Sylphs. The way I understood, they were guardian spirits that served to protect young women? I may be wrong, but, all of that aside, the actual concept of having a spiritual guardian is so interesting to see in literature. I suppose we could mark them up to our versions of guardian angels.
This was a hard read, hands down, but from what I could get, Belinda seemed to be a tad vain and oblivious to what was happening around her, which led to all the drama. Just goes to show that women always need to be aware of their surroundings, especially now with all the bad stuff happening around us constantly.
Safety and reputation are never guaranteed things, and, unfortunately, we don't have Sylphs peeking over our shoulders looking for trouble. Keep ya heads up, ladies. Maybe keep your hair up too, so no weird guys can cut it and steal it from you.
Song: sweet little angel by big mama thornton (doesn't really relate, but it's a good song with the word "angel" in the title)
