the church age didn't start in acts

I really like how Locke defines "church." In fact, I may steal it. He says, "A church seems to me to be a free society of men who voluntarily come together to worship God in a way that they think is acceptable to Him and effective in saving their souls. I repeat: a ‘free’ society that men join ‘voluntarily.’"

The common consensus is that the church age started on the day of Pentecost in Acts two. There, the disciples led by Peter were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in many tongues. This led to an age of discipleship and communion amongst the believers.

However, this communion and fellowship also happened in Eden. Adam and Eve came together, with God in physical form, to meet together and bring worship and adoration to God.

That's a church by Locke's definition.
