I am going to be completely honest: After reading the first three cantos of The Rape of the Lock, I looked up a guide to help me understand what I had just read.
The structure and the wording of the text was so extremely hard for me to swallow and comprehend. Needless to say, the story I got from reading on my own was very different from the one that was actually taking place.
Because of the difficulties I had, trying to formulate what I was going to talk about for this blog post was a struggle. And then, I decided to talk about the one aspect of the story that blew my mind the most: Shock. I swear I didn't intend for that to be a joke! Truthfully, when I found out Shock was a dog, my first thought was, "There was a dog in this story? The whole time, there was a dog and I was unaware?"
That's it. That's all I took from The Rape of the Lock: Puppies.
