Faith. You don't have to have it for everything. I dare say, you don't even have to have it for most things. But you do have to have it for the big things.
Locke states it best when he says: "I can grow rich by the use of skills that give me no pleasure; I can be cured by of a disease by remedies that I have no faith in; but I can't be saved by a religion that I distrust or a worship that I dislike."
This means that faith, although not necessary in all things, is necessary in the biggest thing. You don't have to believe that you will be healed when you break your arm in order to be healed. You don't have to enjoy the things you do in order to be paid to do them. You do, however, have to have faith in order to be saved, because without faith there's no salvation. Salvation requires faith; it's not a guaranteed right to go to Heaven. We as humans are depraved and cannot reach Heaven by simply living. Our broken nature guarantee us Hell alone, and nothing else. This is why faith is so crucial, because "what God cares about is faith and inner sincerity," not the image you portray to those around you. Playing the role of an active and healthy church member is not hard to do for those who have done it their whole lives, but genuine sincerity is what God is searching for in the hearts of those that claim His name. Faith is necessary, point blank, for salvation, and nothing besides faith gets you to where you want to be (Heaven). Faith is not required for many physical things, but spiritually you are lost without it, literally. You cannot receive the blessings of Heaven if you can't believe the existence of it.
That's the tea sis.
P.S. I commented on Gabby and Kayla's posts.
