Hello friends. It's quite a lovely and freezing cold evening we have, isn't it?
I must say I enjoyed this poem, but unfortunately I could make no sense of it.
I honestly find this to be very abstract and artistic. The pictures that the author is painting with the words being spoken is beautiful, I can picture these things in my head, but I am unsure as to determine whether these images are creepy, beautiful, or simply uncanny. That's pretty much all that I've got to say about the themes or meanings of the poem. I need some translation assistance before I go on any further in meditation on what I just read.
The use of onomatopoeia is very vivid and striking in the writing, and the purposeful use of slang terms and even purposeful, childlike misspellings such as "goonight" are so pretty and innocent. I know that I am doing a terrible job of being an Honors student at the moment, but the fact of the matter for me is that there are no little hints to the bigger picture (for me). Rather, the entire poem itself is that bigger picture that I can't completely visualize in my mind (perhaps I'm just too clouded), nevertheless I look forward to listening (and only listening) in discussion tomorrow.
peace out, folks.
