Love: So Essential -- Breanna Poole

Love: So Essential

In my post, I want to focus on one short quote: "Their love was an essential part of my life."

This is a very quick quote, Elie does not linger on it for very long. But in it, I believe we find something that is important for all of us to remember. Other people's life and love are just as important as our own for us to witness, as it gives us optimism and hope for all things. To find joy in the love of others is one of the greatest gifts we can receive times of strife, though perhaps not as serious as Elie's situation, as it gives the ability to foster hope for ourselves. This contributes to one of my biggest beliefs, in that our stories bleed together. God puts us in each other's lives, so that our circumstances may branch out and teach others. Our lives are not our own, but for the glory of God, and that means many things, one of which is being there to lift others up by leading by example. Elie was fostering hope and optimism based on Gad's love for Ilana. By cherishing his friends and understanding what love is, he could have something to hold onto in times of hardship.

P.S. I commented on Spencer and Cade's posts.

Breanna, I love this! I agree with you completely. Our stories are meant to be shared so that god can change lives! I believe Elisha needed to see more of this in his life. I know that would be hard with everything that he had been through. But, a little bit of unnecessary kindness and a story of hope would have changed The path of his life. However, if that had happened this book would be very different than it is now.
