Predictions in The Unspiritual House

I really don't know where to start. My mind is a jumbled mess of plot, and I really still don't think that the MAIN thing has happened yet, the foreshadowing of Pedro and Alba this book has been setting up. I only have my predictions.

Several times throughout the course of this novel, the point of view changes. When Esteban is talking, it's in first person. When it's about Clara and everyone else, it's in third person. This is most evidently seen in the earlier sections of the novel, and paired with all of the foreshadowing done by Esteban, I really believe it is him after the novel reading through Clara's journals, but that's just me. I don't know what I'm going to do if he is the sole survivor of the entire crew.

Never in my life have I been so drained by a book. It's more like an orgy than an epic. Every character seems as depraved as the last. The journies and arcs from the city to Tres Marias (and back and forth) feels like everyone is just sinning in a circle. It's making me wonder more and more about the author's intentions behind this work and her personal background.
