I don't know about you all, but for some odd reason my reflections upon this book are that it is captivatingly strange. I could see this all playing out in a movie inside my head, which would be one of those twisted thriller movies that always leave you on the edge of your seat. For some reason, I also know that the book will have a very strange ending. But I want to take a second and talk about how actually screwed up in the head Esteban Trueba is.
This dude... man I thought I was going to like his character, but the more they build it, especially when it comes to the farm and everything else... I am barely able to tolerate him now. I think Rosa's dearth changed him for the worse, and while he brought up the hacienda to its former glory, there are some very WRONG (captial letters for a good reason) things that this mans decided in his mind were okay. AND the fact that he thinks that the people in the village are not created equal to him??!! This has really gotten to his head! Rant over.
That's what this book is doing to me! There are so many disturbing images with the eclectic details this author has to offer that weird me out but force me to read until the next thing happens. I have mixed feelings about this read. It is a good one, one of the most interesting reads in my time with Honors, but at the same time I dislike it, mainly because of the actions of Esteban at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get over that. Anyways, have a good time reading my blog, and I'll chat you tomorrow friends.
