Temptation - Addison Zanda

"In spite of all these warnings Niko couldn't resist the urge to take a few steps inside the cave, ot else curiosity and regret would have killed him... He'd barely begun to advance whenhe saw a shoadow flee ahead of him... The size of the cave echoed the sound of his steps that, multiplied tenfold, made him run even faster and he sweated as he'd never done before" (5).

Temptation takes over a strong part of our lives. Niko had been warned to not enter the cave though many warning signs had been given. The Bible warns us of many hardships we face when we constantly dwell in temptation. 1 John 3:8 says, "But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil." John warned believers against allowing Satan to tempt them to wrong actions. We all have areas where we feel especially tempted. This passage isn't about people who are working to overcome a particular sin, however; it refers to people who constantly try to justify wrong actions. That attitude comes from the enemy. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to avoid giving in to temptation. But he wont force us to use his temptation escape route.

Man, I like this post! I was actually going to write about this as well. Temptation is a huge part of our lives. It is definitely important to recognize that what we do with that temptation is what characterizes it as a sin or not. Temptation itself is not a sin.
