"We possess truth and goodness only in part, mingled with falsehood and evil."
When I read this sentence in this selection written by Pascal, my mind immediately went to the world today. This probably isn't what he meant for this passage to mean but I couldn't help but think of it this way. First, as Christians, we have Christ living in us who changes our hearts and how we live our lives. We will seek to honor God everyday in life and the things we do will certainly be good in this world and in our lives. But we are still sinners, sinners saved by grace, but still sinners. We still have sin and evil in our lives. This world, it has a lot of good in it, amazing and beautiful blessings from the Lord. But this world is still full of evil things and evil people. Everything isn't always going to be 100% perfect. There is going to be negativity but God is still good and He is still in control. Pascal had a lot of interesting thoughts that made me question how well I can actually think about Philosophy. But the sentence above stuck with me because however Pascal meant for that to be interpreted, it hit home with this girl!
